All participants must be 16 years of age or older to enter. Costumes must be appropriate for a family-friendly audience—no excessive gore, nudity, or offensive imagery will be permitted. Weapons or props must be clearly fake and safe for public display. Participants must treat staff, judges, and other guests respectfully. Disruptive behavior may result in disqualification. Participants must be present and checked in by 7:00 PM on the night of the event (Saturday, October 11). Late arrivals may not be allowed to compete. Entry does not guarantee a place in the Finals. The Finals are limited to 20 participants, with preference given to handmade costumes during the pre-qualifying judging process. Final Judging will be based on creativity, originality, craftsmanship, and presentation. Judges’ decisions are final and not subject to dispute. Group entries must be submitted by one designated group leader. By entering, participants agree to be photographed and grant permission for their image to be used in promotional materials. The Haunted Castle reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not adhere to these guidelines.
